Text to Slug

Turn any title into a clean, SEO-friendly URL. Just type — the slug appears instantly. Unlike ordinary slug tools, accents are converted, not deleted (Café Münchén → cafe-munchen, not caf-mnchn), and Russian or Greek titles give you a real slug instead of an empty one.

Text to Slug

Accent-safe, never empty, SEO-friendly URL slugs — live in your browser.

Text to Slug — SEO-Friendly URLs That Don't Mangle Your Words

A clean URL slug is one of the simplest SEO wins. example.com/how-to-compress-pdf ranks better and looks more professional than example.com/page?id=47382. Search engines and people both prefer readable URLs that describe the content.

The catch: most slug tools just delete anything that isn't a-z0-9. That quietly destroys your title — Café Münchén becomes caf-mnchn, Łódź becomes d, and a Russian or Greek headline becomes an empty slug with no URL at all. This tool transliterates instead: accents convert to their plain English letters, ß→ss, ø→o, Cyrillic and Greek are romanised, and symbols become words (50% off → 50-percent-off). Type and the slug appears instantly. No signup, no cost.

How to Create a URL Slug

1. Type Your Title

Paste a blog title, product name or heading. The slug and a live URL preview appear as you type — nothing is uploaded.

2. Accents Handled Properly

Accented and special letters are converted, never deleted, and the tool tells you what it did — or warns you if a slug would come out empty.

3. Tweak If You Want

Pick a hyphen, underscore or dot, toggle lowercase, or drop stop words. Length limits, German style and bulk mode live under “More options”.

4. Copy and Publish

One click copies the slug. In bulk mode you can convert a whole list of titles and download them all as a text file.

What Makes This Slug Tool Accurate

Real Accent Transliteration

é→e, ñ→n, ü→u, ß→ss, ø→o, å→a, æ→ae, Đ→d, Ł→l, þ→th. Café Münchén Naïve becomes cafe-munchen-naive — not caf-mnchn-nave. German style (ü→ue, ö→oe) is one click away.

Never an Empty Slug

Cyrillic and Greek are romanised — Привет мир → privet-mir, Ελλάδα → ellada. For Hindi, Chinese or Japanese, “Keep original letters” produces a valid Unicode slug instead of nothing.

Symbols Become Words

50% off → 50-percent-off, Rock & Roll → rock-and-roll, C++ Guide → c-plus-plus-guide, and €/$/₹ become euro/dollar/rupee — so your title's meaning survives into the URL.

Bulk Mode with Unique Slugs

Convert a whole list at once, one title per line. Duplicates are numbered automatically (about-us, about-us-2) so you never publish clashing URLs. Import a list, copy or download the results.

Smart Length & Stop Words

Cap the slug length and it cuts on a word boundary — never half a word. Optionally drop the, of, and for shorter keyword-focused URLs, and get a warning when a slug grows too long for search results.

Live, Private and Free

The slug and a full URL preview update character by character, with a hyphen/underscore/dot separator and lowercase toggle. Runs entirely in your browser — no signup, no tracking.

Text to Slug — FAQs

Because they delete everything that isn't a-z0-9, which removes the accented letter entirely. “Café Münchén” becomes caf-mnchn and “Łódź Kraków” becomes d-krakw. This tool transliterates first, so you get cafe-munchen and lodz-krakow with every word intact.

Ordinary tools return a completely empty slug for these — you lose the URL. Here, Cyrillic and Greek are romanised (Привет мир → privet-mir, Ελλάδα Αθήνα → ellada-athina). Hindi, Chinese and Japanese have no single standard romanisation, so instead of guessing, the tool warns you and offers “Keep original letters”, which produces a valid Unicode slug (browsers percent-encode it automatically).

Hyphens. Google treats a hyphen as a word separator but reads an underscore as a joiner, so compress_pdf_online can be read as one long word while compress-pdf-online is read as three keywords. Hyphen is the default here; underscore and dot are available for filenames and other uses.

Around 60–75 characters is a good ceiling — the tool warns you past that. Set a max length and it trims on a word boundary, never leaving half a word, and you can drop stop words (the, of, and) to keep it keyword-focused. For a whole list, switch on Bulk mode: one title per line, duplicates numbered automatically, then copy or download them all.

Completely free — no signup, no tracking. Every slug is generated in your browser as you type; nothing is sent to a server.
